The Herbfarm Restaurant

The Herbfarm is America's only 5-Diamond Restaurant north of Napa Valley and east of Chicago. With working farm and restaurant 20 minutes from Seattle, the restaurant offers 26 different 9 course dinner menus each year.Creed: The Herbfarm believes that no dish can be better than its ingredients, and that the best ingredients are usually local. Freshness is ephemeral, and geography expresses itself in the taste of the food--sometimes subtly and sometimes profoundly. The foods and wines of our region share a similar motherhood of soil and weather, making for a happier culinary marriage than those from dissimilar climates. The Herbfarm believes that chefs who cook with local ingredients--season by season, year after year--develop a more complete understanding of the foods than chefs who do not. This understanding can give rise to greater expressions of the food, its preparation, and enjoyment. The Herbfarm believes that supporting local farmers, foragers, cheesemakers, wineries, ranches, and fishermen helps preserve local foods.

This was a very special meal where everyone was part of one giant party, all dining together, a marvelous shared experience. Please see the photos for a look at it.

Everything about the experience at The Herbfarm was impeccable. The venue itself is interesting and really makes you feel like you’re part of a smaller, more intimate dinner party rather than a restaurant. The staff all seem to really enjoy their jobs and are very friendly and knowledgeable. Personally, this is a huge factor when I dine out as having someone who obviously hates their job really puts a damper on the whole occasion. The food was some of, if not the, best I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. It’s definitely on par with the best NYC has to offer and Noma (often cited as the best restaurant in the world). For anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, The Herbfarm is going to be your best bet in the Seattle area.

I go to this unique restaurant from time to time since I like the good air that is exist in this place. The crew is highly loving and professional. The service is pretty fast. Not to mention, the food you get is excellent. I visited more than once and I was always satisfied. The rate is modest. I suggest this place to my friends and family.

Questions & Answers

Hi. It's on page 320 of The Herbfarm Cookbook which you can order directly from us autographed by author. Or, on the web: http://www.afsandeberg.com/1/misc-stuff/our-recipes/Bev-Herbfarm-Switchel-Punch.htm

It will depend on the day you choose to go. Find an event with a theme that sounds good to you! I went for thier mushroom one and it was the best meal I've ever had.

Sorry for the delay I didn't know I was getting messages here. The service is added to the price as is the sales tax. However, the prices include 9-course meal matched with wine, beers, or herbal botanicals as well as a pre-dinner introduction, wine cellar open house, presentation by chef and sommelier and live guitar music. During Holly and Ivy we also offer carolers strolling through the dining room. Hope to see you soon

It depends on your reservations. Most dinners start at 7pm, but the phone lines to make reservations are open until 5pm. It is open year round, but you really do need reservations to eat dinner there.

It will depend on the specific theme menu for the date you go. Check their website for the themes/prices.

Depends on the meal but it's generally around $200-$250/person. This includes wine pairings with each dish.

Their website has the current theme and the menu for a night is set based on the theme. They will accommodate any allergies or things you don't like, but part of the experience is not having to worry about options :-)

It varies per dinner and per day. Check their website for exact pricing on the day you want to go. There are opportunities to add and upgrade during the meal as well.
